The GEL-NUNOBIKI pays homage to early 2000s trail shoes. In Japanese, Nunobiki is a hiking trail with peaceful waterfalls in Kobe, Japan.

The shoe's upper is based on design elements from the GEL-KAHANA 3 and the GEL-TARGET. Its matte and semi-glossy plastic layers combine with the raw and sparse structures found in nature to create an urban trail aesthetic.
